WE KEEP IT CLASSY

LEXIE & DENNIS

As a photographer who is in love with aesthetic side of a wedding and seeing the couples’ creative vision come to life with all the intricate details that they’ve described to me all those months ago, making sure I capture them all to be remembered is important.

Lexie had a classy party in mind when creating her vision for her August wedding in husband home town in Denmark. Absolutely stunning atmosphere of dinner with a lot of candles definitely brought needed vibe for both photo and video creation.

MK Bryllup took care of creating beautiful atmosphere at the wedding place with flowers decor and arrangement of all the small details.

This wedding was a dream to shoot and all their images are living on in printed form in the custom wedding album which will take place as a memory at their home in California.

TELL ME ABOUT THE “THE BEGINNING”?

The beginning: Dennis and I met during COVID when I was staying with my parents in California. I was living in New York at the time but had flown to CA to be with my family. We met on a dating app that is very popular in the US called "Hinge" while I was staying with my parents. We went out for Mexican food at a restaurant we still frequent and I never went back to New York after that other than to pack up my apartment .

WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU GET ENGAGED?

We got engaged in Denmark in December of 2022, while we were visiting for Christmas. We flew from California to Copenhagen and Dennis proposed shortly after landing while we were walking in Nyhavn. Nyhavn actually translates to Newport, which is the town I am from in California. To say I was surprised at this gesture was an understatement! We then went to Aalborg to visit his family.

WHAT DOES MARRIAGE MEAN TO YOU?

Marriage means commitment but it also means committing to the best version of yourself so you can grow together as a couple. Marriage means constantly choosing your partner each and every day and following through on your promises. Lastly, marriage is about compromise - it is never an even split and it's times when you need to lean on each other that real marriage strength shows.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GET MARRIED WHERE YOU DID?

While in Denmark when we got engaged, we later went to Aalborg to visit Dennis's family. On Christmas Eve we went to church at Budolfi. We left with a knowing in our hearts that it would be so special to get married there that next year. My family is from the states and I knew it would be a great opportunity to get them all out to Denmark.

WHAT STYLE/THEME HAVE YOU CHOSEN FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY?

I wanted a very classic and elegant style for the wedding. I didn't want anything "too much" and wanted a timeless look that wasn't trendy. Most of all, I wanted to create a space for a family and friends from both sides of the world to meet and connect - & have fun!

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?

I used Pinterest a lot of inspiration and would save a ton of photos. When I look back at those photos it is easy to see my style come through.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR OUTFITS

I chose a very classic style wedding dress that I felt beautiful in. I brought it from California (it's from the BHLDN line) and I chose a pair of classic heels with Pearls on them as my middle name is Pearl. I wore a ring of my grandmother's who could not attend the wedding as she is 94 years old so that was very special to me. I also "borrowed" a pair of diamond earrings from my sister. My bouquet had a blue ribbon for my something blue.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

My biggest tip is to enjoy the process. It can be stressful at times but always come back to the real reason you're planning this in the first place - it is to celebrate love and new beginnings, and mostly importantly, the day is for the Bride & Groom first.
